Ailisha's Green Vieveth
Bed of Flowers Egg
Both inviting and enticing, this egg almost begs to be touched. It's littered with a smattering of brilliant verdant green, intermingled with speckles and dashes of red, orange, yellow, making it appear as if it is a field of wildflowers, just pleading to be picked. The faintest line of brown leads from the rounded bottom of the egg, disappearing somewhere into the midsection, as though a trail leads through to a romantic and secluded arbor, just out of sight beyond the flowers.
Egg Inspiration: "Pickin' Wildflowers" by Keith Anderson
Baby whatcha say we go pickin' wildflowers?
Got a spot way back in the woods.
Sneak away for a couple of hours,
You and me baby, pickin' wildflowers.
Hatching Message: Bed of Wildflowers Egg develops, a bit suddenly, a hole. A single rose-red blossom just pops out from its kin, picked by an invisible hand for an unknown bouquet, leaving behind a tiny window into the murky depths of the egg's interior. But of course the surface tension on the goo inside breaks and slick egg-stuff drains down the shell's surface just before a new-leaf muzzle protrudes through. The pressure proves too much, and the egg breaks apart into so many floral shards, a brilliantly-hued little hatchling revealed in their fallen midst.
Irrepressibly Incandescent Green
Small though she is, the dragon's eye-catching color is bright enough for two: a brilliant yellow-green, with a shine to it like cut glass, that sets off her athletic frame. That fine hide highlights rather than conceals the sinewy play of muscle beneath it, not darkening in the least from sharp, slender muzzle to the snaky curve of tail. Her paws are small, her talons laced with a subtly darker hue as if caught within netting; upon them she can be not just agile but hesitant, even brooding. But the ground is just the beginning: her wings are exuberant flounces touched with lacy rose-gilt, both effective and feminine, like the effortless rainbows of her eyes.
Final Size: 20
Dragon Inspiration: Wild but contemplative, colorful Cyndi Lauper has run the gamut from quirky punk-pop queen to barely-known ex-diva to comedy actress to sociopolitical activist. Though her music has not since found the widespread popularity it had in the mid-80s, it continues to reflect the artist's energy and capacity for stylistic experimentation.

For her description, these pieces provided some inspiration.
Name: Vieveth - Vivacious and vivid, sensual and striking, Vieveth just seemed to contain suggestions of so many notions we couldn't fit into her hatchling name or description. She is truly named for how she seems - draconic onomatopoeia.
Mindvoice: There's a crystalline clarity to her soprano mindvoice, though she sometimes seems to be so excited that her voice is a runner out of her control, soaring upward in little squeaks of truly high-pitched tones, especially when she's younger. Threads of rainbow colors weave through her thoughts, the images she projects, and her general mood. She sees things in a different perspective than the crowd, so her images might have a different cast, a sharpening of details others miss, or an angle that's unusual.
Internal Impression Message: << Ailisha! >> It's like a whole new name, rich with a hundred colors dancing, blinding and bright and reborn. Shimmering in the heat, a thread of rainbow adoration finds you and binds you in a two-part harmony of completion. Resonant and playfully regal, as if closing off an eternally long game of hide-and-seek, the rainbow's source sings shrill triumph. << Look: you've found me! >> Mellowing as her excitement is subdued to a background trill, Vieveth's support swells around you, promising time after to time to catch you should you fall, to be waiting always there for you. You need no hint to know her name - it's just there, as if it were always part of you. But she does fill you in on this crucial detail: << I'm /starving!/ >>
External Impression Message: Irrepressibly Incandescent Green Hatchling veers from her path toward a group of candidates, only to seemingly change her mind and slink around them. Her eyes swirl every imagined hue, reflecting young people in gowns turned shades of cerulean, gold, and violet by those colorful facets. Suddenly contemplative, she turns again and draws near, nearer, right up close to one of them. She stares intently at her brown-eyed subject for a moment, then shutters her own gaze in three layers of 'lids, the better to reflect on the momentous instant within.
Temperament
Weyrling:
'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' could be her motto during this early stage of life. It's not so much that she's curious about everything as that she sees life as a pushing of boundaries, and takes pleasure in following her impulses when she gets bored. That impulsiveness, when curbed, can cause rather extreme mood swings from exuberant, extroverted eruptions to a moody, introverted withdrawal. She's easy to coax back into a more positive frame of mind when her attention is drawn back to positive things to do, places to go, or the promise of a long lounge in the sun.
In weyrling lessons, she's likely to start out each session by throwing herself in with whole-hearted enthusiasm. She's a well of energy and she loves to learn. The problem is that she's a bit ahead of the curve - she'll learn a lesson quickly, or come to the conclusion that it's irrelevant and doesn't deserve her attention - and in either case she can become petulant about it unless you work to draw her out with your own enthusiasm. Surprisingly, she takes criticism quite well - perhaps the challenge of proving herself ever better helps prevent boredom from setting in.
Adult:
As she matures, it will become clear that Vieveth hears her own Harper, and occasionally isn't adverse to telling said Harper to change the beat mid-song. She experiments with her abilities, trying out new maneuvers, often upsetting the more staid, organized dragons with her brash improvisations and sparkling freshness. Though her moods still swing, they're not as extreme, and she's likely to stay upbeat much more than slumping into that introverted state. When she is more withdrawn, it's more because she's contemplative or introspective as she comes to know who she is, what she wants out of life, and how the two of you mesh together to create a synergy that's greater than the sum of the parts.
As she ages, she'll become more aware of the larger world around her - not just her Weyr and the beholden areas which duty has you both visiting from time to time, nor even the linked network of all of Pern's Weyrs - but the whole planet and its many people, two- and six-limbed. She'll grow to be concerned for the 'little people' as well as those who society deems outcasts - perhaps her time in Weyrs, where dragonriders suffer the mixed stigma of being heroes and morally decrepit, has made her tenderhearted to the underdogs of the world.
Flight:
Already so bright of hide, the subtle sheen and shimmer that her coloring takes on as her time approaches is likely to escape your notice. It certainly won't escape hers, however - she'll take the chance to really enjoy how exceptionally attention-grabbing her looks can be at this time. The real teller is that she's aware of her looks at all, her usual effortless self-confidence bolstered by the extra glow of her season. A girl getting ready for a fun night out on the town, it might not be obvious to you that she's preparing for the score - but that's what she's doing, just the same. With experience she'll grow to be more and more aware of her own sensual cycles, and as she becomes more familiar with them she'll become frankly open about her sexuality.
She rises swiftly, perhaps without blooding, and concludes her flights in short, dramatic displays of aerobatic prowess. Of course someone will have to catch her, and given her speed and agility blues have a natural advantage - one only enhanced by her curious attraction to their nature and build. Not that she'll ignore other males; any who fly well have the potential to catch her - if they can keep up! But once caught, she's not looking for long term companionship. She is, in fact, likely to reject any attempts at longer term relationships growing out of the chance results of flights. Possessiveness is only okay when it's about you and her.
Wing:
She'll never be a good fit with a wing, though she'll do her duty and learn drills and formations and listen to you when you insist that things have to be done certain ways because it's important. She just doesn't agree with the definition of what's important. For her, work must have meaning and be deeply personal; the everyday grunt work of drills and transport just don't have the achingly sharp relevancy she craves. She's more interested in solo missions, or in watchriding in the smaller holds where she finds the people find to be dynamically different in an fascinating way. Her lack of motivation when participating in drills may come as a disappointment to her wingleaders - after all, she's likely to become one of the Weyr's best trick fliers in time, and such agility shouldn't go to waste.
She does, however, hold secret promise in the mode of leadership. As a leader she can act with autonomy, her preferred mode of operation. Should you find yourselves in a wingsecond's or 'leader's position, she'll focus on enabling her wingmates when they dream big and on organizing them when they need to work together. Though she is not an ideal teacher - her communication lacks the clarity and easy comprehension best for weyrling dragons - she is a caring and supportive mentor, subtly offering her own perspectives as opportunities for young dragons and riders to broaden their own minds.
