Moyra's Brown Centh
Starry Rose Egg
A surface as abyssal blue-black as the night sky is flickering traces of lighter blue, yellow, red, orange and even silver-white. The colors shimmer like stars against the depths of the midnight skies. Midway down the egg's side, a chain of red and green markings, very much like the blossoms of a rose, float along in the galaxy of stars, dancing through the glittering night sky. The blossom markings are so realistic that they could float off of the egg's surface, becoming a garden of roses twisting a path on a silver and black river, a river of stars in the depths of the night.
Egg Inspiration: Adolescence of Utena
Utena finally has a breakdown, and Anthy comes up with a romantic surprise for her girlfriend. She takes the nearest tool, a hoe for her garden, and cuts the wire to the lights on her garden, as well as the pump for the water for her roses. The lights go out, the water fills the garden, and you can see the reflection of the stars in the water. The roses float along on the currents of water, spilling a snow shower of fragrant rose petals over the school below. Utena and Anthy dance to the soothing strains of the song, 'Toki ni Ai wa,' dancing among the stars.
Hatching Pose: Starry Rose Egg spins once more, then shards and goo fly off in all directions, some landing a good distance away. So vigorous is the hatchling's escape from his prison that egg-bits are strewn across the sands as bouquets to a performer. As the dust and sand settle, a light young brown stands revealed. He hesitates for a moment, lifting wings and tail, only then taking a careful step forwards. And another one, attention seemingly focused entirely on this 'walking' thing before he finally lifts his head to regard the sands and the crowds, wings still lifted into what might constitute a 'pose'.
Fastidious Sandswept Brown
This sleek, sandy brown is slender and angular from pointed muzzle and oddly sharp headknobs to a tail so lengthy it’s a bit out of proportion to the rest of his form. Narrow, swept-back wings draped with dusty, flaxen sails promise agility unusual for his color. His hindquarters are well-built and firmly set, legs already muscled with the power needed to launch into flight. One of the lighter browns, his color begins in tans and soft sienna over neck and back, fading along his belly into the shade of desert sand. Glossy mahogany talons provide contrast to pale, precise paws. As unassuming as his build and colors may be, there is nothing self-effacing about the way in which he carries himself. His careful movements are fastidious, each step taken slowly, wings lifted neatly out of the way. This is not a dragon that lumbers; rather, he moves with a regal grace.

Inspiration: The famous – no, make that infamous writer and director Ed Wood, main character in the biopic of the same name (Played by Johnny Depp). He was easily distracted, curious, and creative, a combination that led to some truly bad filmmaking and questionable personal taste. Centh ‘inherits’ many of these qualities, but inflicts his fascination with the feminine form on his lifemate more than himself!

Name: Centh - Ed Wood's unusual behaviors, his obsessions and habits, paint him as one of Hollywood's more eccentric personalities, which gives rise to his name, Centh.
Mindvoice: Whilst most dragons back words up with images or images with words, Centh mixes words and images in an eclectic pattern, neither more important than the other. His voice is a high baritone, and he tends to speak quickly, which means he may not allow you time to sort out his meaning before he's moved on to something else. In conversation, he tends to leap from subject to subject, sometimes even within the same sentence. Those images of his? They don't exactly help make things clearer. Instead the stark chiaroscuro, black and white with dramatic shadows and strange angles, only add to his unique style of communication.
Internal Impression Message: Finally, the Fastidious Sandswept Brown Hatchling stops, seeming to consider everything once more. He is pensive and quiet, one wingsail barely fluttering alongside his sand-swept side - then whirling eyes turn towards hazel eyes and ashwood hair. The choice is made.
External Impression Message: The sands, the crowds, the heat, all of these things suddenly seem to flicker into black and white, and spin until you find yourself looking at a colorless image of yourself as seen through faceted dragon eyes. Layering through it is a sense of urgency, of enthusiasm, of hunger, yet also...a feeling almost of relief. Weaving through the images comes a voice, a rapid tenor that makes the image of you flash in excitement. << I found you! I am Centh. Come on, we have so much we need to get done. >> Though the voice never quite separates itself from the images, now they begin to settle, solidifying into the real world that surrounds you - yet oddly brighter, somehow. << Come on! I'm hungry! > > The urges of his stomach are enough to make your own rumble at that last comment.
Temperament
Weyrling:
Centh will start off a little unsure of himself, but rapidly blossom into apparent over-confidence. ‘Apparent’ because it conceals a trace of insecurity deep within. Brown loyalty will be reflected more in clinginess than in the stoic support the color is known for. In the first month or so, it may be hard to leave his sight!
From the start, he will show an odd interest in pretty and shiny things, and they may always distract him. Jewelry, firelizards, the sparkle playing on the surface of the bathwater… anything like that will hold more of his interest than lessons.
He will be a touch vain. He will expect to be kept looking pretty - and that might even be the word he uses. His fastidious nature demands cleanliness, both for himself and his surroundings. The muck and clutter of the barracks is distasteful to him from the start. Your own weyr will be a welcome relief – one he may want to celebrate by having you add touches from hanging flowers to embroidered cushions. Whatever feminine graces you may have, you may be sure Centh will encourage them - and the matter of domestic living is only the beginning.
He will not pass through as many 'clumsy' stages as the average dragon, partly because he’s so cautious about how he carries himself. That care will extend into learning to fly. He may even be somewhat cautious about getting off the ground – after all, he has to get it right. He may be a little slow to hunt, too, not wanting to get blood on his nice, clean talons.
To others, he may seem quirky or even weird. His images tend to be very clear and specific, but he uses them mixed in with words, which isn't always easy to sort out. Fortunately, he’ll have no problems with between, due to those clear visualizations. It's only talking with him that can get a little trying at times.
Adult:
As he matures, Centh will never lose his interest in pretty and shiny things, but he'll come to appreciate them most on his rider. It often seems he picked a woman on the hatching sands just for the sake of her potential femininity, and he’ll often push you to make the most of your girly side. Unfortunately, his taste in such matters is not impeccable. It can, at times, be outright tacky.
He may be a bit of a difficult dragon for others to get on with, as he has a good deal of vanity and ego. He's ambitious, but unfortunately - or perhaps fortunately - doesn't really stick to one particular ambition. It's always a *different* leadership position he wants, flickering from one idea to another. It will be up to you, his rider, to make the decisions and get him to pick things and stick to them.
p>Brown solidity is not a large part of his personality – it’s *loyalty* he has in abundance. He’s loyal to you of course and always, but also to his wingmates and his weyr. He makes fast friends and wants only the best for them, and becomes easily convinced that they are, like him, destined for great things. When it comes to giving pep talks, this attitude makes him the best. But after a while, it can begin to wear on people - Centh will keep on promoting a friend even when there’s not much to promote, and those who know him may eventually tire of him exaggerating the virtues of a friend whose gifts are frankly mediocre.
At times, he seems unable to grasp basic practicalities, possessing an artist's temperament and verve. He is certainly unwilling to accept second place.
Flight:
Despite his sometimes fussy demeanor, Centh certainly knows what to do with a nubile green or sensual gold, should he catch one. He's not an excessive chaser, though. For all he is easily distracted in other areas, when it comes to females, he tends to pick one, become distinctly interested in her to the exclusion of others, and insist that he will be hers forever.
Unfortunately, his flattery tends not to be *good*. He's the master of the bad pickup line, saying things more inclined to result in laughter than a female’s earnest attraction. In the end this is just as well - he might claim he is looking for just the right one to share his ledge, and he really means it at the time. The truth will always out, however: he simply does not have the mental staying power for permanent relationships, and eventually he always moves on to someone new.
Wing:
As a leader he would be comfortable, for Centh always has a vision for how things should be done. But as a member of a wing? He has to be kept in line. Still, he is extremely versatile in formation, smaller and more flexible than the average brown but with a brown’s sturdy flame and reliable flight. Drills, to him, are something of an informal competition. Who can get the most Thread? Fortunately, his determination to be the best tends to overcome his easily distracted nature. When working, he's a true professional.
Unfortunately, he hates sweeps and, as a brownrider, you may tend to get some of the longer routes. But Centh gets bored, so he’ll attempt to liven things up. Lengthy conversations on the weirdest of subjects are likely to ensue. Worse, he’ll complain openly to any dragon willing to listen to him. Drills? Those are fun. Sweeps are just flying around like a nincompoop.
He's likely to be very fussy about the more cosmetic aspects of his wing. He may need to learn that handsome is as handsome does and develop some flexibility. He will definitely need to learn how to provide criticism *constructively* - or he might make himself a rather unpopular brown.
On the other hand, he is good at offering compliments and encouraging talk. These traits make him capable of inspiring loyalty in others when he puts in the effort, even if his heroic speeches can sometimes be more amusing than inspiring.
