T'mic's Green Aath
In the Spotlight Egg
Dark enough to nearly be missed against the black Istan sands, this egg is only distinguishable by it's glossy sheen, and the bright white splotch at it's top. Like a beacon in the night, the white fades down across the shell, disappearing into the darkness at the egg's base. It's rather unremarkable besides the path of white, it's only other features being the rough texture and ovoid shape that define it as an egg.
Egg Inspiration: Inspired by the brilliant beacon of the spotlight illuminating an unlit stage.
Hatching Message: The last crack of the Spotlight Egg breaks it in half, black curtains splitting up the middle and shattering the pale cap into so much shining dust. What is left, sitting between the two broad curves of shell, is a green hatchling still tucked into a ball as if she doesn’t yet realize the constricting walls are gone.
Beguiling Sunlit Satin Green
This shapely green wears the two-tone glow of dark satin and warm sunlight with all the sensuality of a negligee, as though she revels in the feel of her own hide. A gleaming yellow spreads here and there about her healthy form, that light radiating from the curve of her jaw, flickering along her feminine shoulder, accentuating the round line of her haunches and lending definition to her already curvaceous build. Her limbs are delicate, with small and slender daintiness to her paws and the translucent webbing of her wings. Filtered hues of sunlight and verdant boudoir chiffon are strewn across her wingsails like a flimsy peignoir held by her fine spars. Her headknobs and neat little neckridges have a certain sparkle - a tiara unwound to trace down her spine. That soft flicker of silken light gathers around the base of each elevation along her slender neck and offsets their dark green glint. Her faceted eyes have heavy lids and arced ridges, tingeing her draconic expression with a languid ease.
Final Size: 23.5
Dragon Inspiration: You asked for a femme fatale and not a bubble-head, but you have gotten both. Aath is based on the illustrious Lorelei Lee from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, a role made famous by Marilyn Monroe. To the casual observer, Lorelei may seem like a dumb blonde, but beneath that is a calculating woman who is always thinking ahead, who always has a game plan. And she's not above using her undeniable feminine wiles to get what she wants. Nothing suits her better than to wrap a man around her finger like a gleaming Tiffany ring.
“I can be smart when it's important. But most men don't like it.”
Name: Aath - Ahhh. Let Aath's name be an enamoured sigh, a seductive breath. Short and sweet as they come, it has the double-vowel you requested and maybe even just a little of that Egyptian flair. Maybe.
Mindvoice: The glint and glare of light on jewels is always present in Aath's mental touch. It sparkles like glitter when she's pleased, glares when she's upset. The colors may change, though they remain in jewel tones - rubies, emeralds, sapphires and usually traces of gold or silver. Her voice itself has a whispering quality, throaty and soft, perfect for murmuring sweet nothings.
Internal Impression Message: It starts like static in your vision – tiny flecks that make you blink as if they could be cleared from your eyes. But they don’t clear; they grow greater and brighter as it snows sparkles to fill the cavern, from a light flurry of tiny specks to a veritable blizzard of shimmering lights. It swarms until your senses are obscured – you stand on glitter, you breathe glitter, you hear it patter and whisper in your ears. That whisper takes on tone, a voice, throaty and soft. << T’mic, >> That is your name, though it sounds like a sweet prayer from this gentle, suggestive voice. << I’m for you. I’m yours. >> The words hand you a heart. Her heart, your own heart. << I am Aath. >>
External Impression Message: The Beguiling Sunlit Satin Green spots the one. The one for her. It is an obvious relief for one who was so stranded, so adrift in the world all alone. She sighs a heavy breath as if she could not have stood to be alone for one moment longer. It lifts her head with rapture and her body goes soft towards the man with short dark curls.
Temperament
Weyrling:
Every soft, half-whispered word feels like a promise that you’re the only man, only being, in all the world. Aath is full of such promises, that she’s nothing but gentle, silly sweetness that needs your care and love. You will find, however, this isn’t the whole truth. When you first meet Aath she’s a sweet presence who dotes on you, adores you. Her flattery is readily evident: << T'mic, you are so brilliant. You shine. >> You are her diamond and she likes nothing better than the glint of sparkles. But, over time, you’ll see that you’re not the only one she sweet-talks. She’s quick to cozy up to her clutch siblings and praise how they’re so far ahead of her, and when watching experienced dragons she makes much of her rapt fascination and awe. Using words of sincere admiration interspersed with flattery to get her way, Aath will always keep you guessing.
As a young dragon, she’s full of innocent questioning, still learning about the world she lives in. And yet it seems that, as she gets older, this curiosity and ignorance never goes away, as if she were perpetually hatched yesterday. Still, she almost always has a quick excuse if she's expected to know something, but doesn't. How silly to think that she would! And she can be quick to turn on the praise when you or anyone else supplies her with those tidbits of knowledge. While no one else may catch on, eventually it may become apparent to you that she's not nearly so ignorant as she plays. Her mind is too quick for that. When she leaves to feed and you have to point out that the feeding grounds are in the other directions, she’ll just breeze back. << Who said they weren’t? >> It may frustrate or fascinate you: is she really this sweet and innocent or is it just a ploy to make herself seem like one who should be taken care of? After all, everyone is -so- much more brilliant that she is.
Adult:
Aath has a penchant for luxury - from discerning taste in herdbeasts, to scoping other couches and eventually weyrs, to a general sense of opulent leisure. She's happiest when she can be a princess, the heart of everyone's attention with nothing to do but be admired. Drills and duties may bore her to tears, and she prefers a little one-on-one time to learn the moves. It's possible that no one will ever really know if she's as tired as she claims or if she just wants an excuse to cop out early. She may not be the best influence on you in this regard, as lounging is always best with you on her arm.
For a dragon, she can be preoccupied with marks, and you can never have enough as far as she's concerned. Though she may prefer lying around to drills, she's not lazy when she sees profit to be made. She'll encourage you to meet with old associates down on the docks, then offer herself as transport for a quick quarter-piece and even make eyes at someone to help seal the deal. You're not jealous, are you? She can cozy up to anyone, be it that sturdy blue or the woman who tailors your shirts. In her mind, everyone likes a little attention and one never knows when her sweet friendliness might pay off down the road.
Yes, Aath is ambitious. That life of luxury doesn't just fall on you; some careful steps are needed to ensure it. She's very good at making everything seem like someone else's idea: Wasn't it you who wanted the larger weyr? Wasn't it Sulizath who thought the two of you were perfect for that trip to Boll to collect the Holder's daughter? Or was Aath behind it all? Sometimes you may catch her, but you might always wonder how many times you didn't. It hardly matters when the fruits of her labors are so sweet.
Flight:
Aath is most likely to show her true colors is when she's ready to rise. It’s then that she can become rather short with someone who doesn’t have any immediate reward for her, when she has less skill with her manipulations and they show through. You will already know that nearly ditzy air is pretense, and when her laziness and greed are strongest and she drops most of that facade. It’s not terribly overt to odd observer, but you’ll know it. You’ll hear more of those secret thoughts, see more of the wheels that turn in her head. You may feel that every time she rises, you get to know her just a little bit better.
As for the boys, well, with that extra bit of glow on her hide, she’s not about to waste this prime chance to make new friends. She’ll use her shapely figure to her advantage, careful to make sure she’s always visible, letting that rising color make promises for her. She’ll lay the flirtations and flattery on thickly, tease the males around her with half-truths, and generally make a lusty spectacle of herself until it’s time to take to the air.
And the flights themselves? Lightning-speed daredevil affairs that end too quickly. After all, she does like to leave them wanting more.
Wing:
In the air, Aath is among the nimblest of fliers. Her stamina may be called into question and she usually claims to be tired even earlier than other greens, but what she can do while in the air is exceptional. She may be the first in her class to spin on a wingtip. Her daring dives could frighten your weyrlingmasters from the start. She loves to make a spectacle of herself, showing off the quick, gravity-defying moves of her wings.
For all that she may want to shirk drills and though she may seem to need extra tutoring from anyone who catches her eye, when Thread returns, she’ll leave you with no doubt that she knows what she’s doing. It’s show time and she knows her moves, her places, her cues. All that extra time getting to know her wingmate in one-on-one sessions pays off and makes her well capable of teamwork. Sure, some of her quick moves may steal the show, but when it’s all over and done, she’ll play it off as the effect of her wonderful wing and clever instructors.
