Welcome to Candidacy
And congratulations on being searched! We're eager to welcome you into the fray. :) If you need help with anything or have questions, comments or suggestions, never hesitate to let us know. Our main goal is to make sure that everyone is having fun!
There are a number of handy commands that we encourage you to become familiar with:
+rwho isw | shows a list of Istans currrently connected |
=isw <message> | talks on the knot |
+duties | shows a list of candidates and their chores |
+events | shows the calendar of upcoming events |
+where/isw | shows who is currently in public Istan rooms |
+help gossip | gossip system's help file |
Please @link yourself (@link me=here) in the candidate barracks (@tel #1406); they will be your homebase for the duration of candidacy. You are welcome to have a cot in the barracks as long as it is set dark (@create , then @set =dark) to keep the spam under control. If you have puppets, such as firelizards, we ask that you please don't leave them in the room when you're not using them; either leave them in your cot or carry them.
If you haven't already, we encourage you to read our +lhelp files and explore our website to find plenty of info about the Weyr.
Please change your +pos (&pos me=) to reflect your status as a candidate at Ista Weyr and you may want to add a mention of the candidate knot in your description - it's Ista's black and orange with the white string that marks candidates.
We recommend that you keep an eye on the local +bbs. The best way to do this is to add a +bbread for the Ista Weyr bboard (#6) and the Ista Weyr Hatching bboard (#9) to your @aconnect (@aconnect me=+skim;+bbread 6/u;+bbread 9/u). +help bb will give you the general help files for the bulletin boards.
The Weyrleaders are always available if you have questions or concerns, so feel free to contact them via page or +mail on the game.
