Search Cycle Walk-Through: The Clutching

A few RL (real life) weeks following the flight, the queen will clutch her eggs. In the books, this process took several days. Traditionally, on the MUSH, clutching is done as a one evening event. It may be the clutching itself where everyone is invited to watch and 'ooh' and 'ahh' at the eggs or it may be a party to celebrate the arrival of the eggs. You might want to try to stop by Ista to join in and get to know some of Ista's riders and residents. During and after the clutching you may sit in the stands and observe the eggs whenever you wish. You are warned to not go onto the sands or in any other way disturb the queen.

The queen will clutch an IC number of eggs; the number varies depending on a handful of factors including the time during the Pass or Interval and the age or condition of the dam. Only a few of these eggs will actually impress to player characters. The date and time of the clutching will be made known by a bbpost on the general and Ista Weyr boards.
