Search Cycle Walk-Through: Candidacy

If you are searched, the searchrider will bring you back to Ista and help get you settled.

Candidates live at the Weyr and are expected to be close by and available should the eggs start hatching. Candidates will only be allowed to leave the Weyr on special occasions with willing rider escorts. If there is an event outside of the Weyr that candidates may participate in, there will be a post on the Istan hatching board (+bbread 9) to let you know.

You will be expected to spend most of your time at the Weyr actively RPing, and, your character will be assigned chores to perform around the Weyr. This is when we will really get to know you, and you will get to know the other candidates. The bonds that form with fellow candidates can be very close and lasting. This is your time to ask questions, get to know the other people in the Weyr, and roleplay with them. If you were a crafter or worked in a Weyr or Hold prior to search, your character's time will be split between their chores and the work in which they are trained.

Don't try too hard while you're a candidate. Be natural and act like yourself. We want to see how you get along with other candidates and other residents of the Weyr. If you act the way you think we want you to, second-guessing us, you aren't getting to know us, and we aren't getting to know the real you. This means we could both make decisions that would result in neither you, nor Ista, being happy and satisfied after the hatching.
