Search Cycle Walk-Through: The Hatching

A few days before the hatching, the Weyrleaders may hold another informational meeting. At this session, everything you need to know about the hatching will be explained. In the case where there is no meeting, candidates will be directed to a webpage containing all the pertinent information.

The hatching will be few weeks after the clutching. It will probably be on a weekend in the later afternoon or early evening (Eastern Time). However, candidates will be polled to find a date and time which is most convenient for everyone.

That hatching will be announced IC by the humming of all the dragons of the Weyr. The eggs will begin to crack and the candidates will be ushered onto the sands wearing plain white robes resembling potato sacks with holes for arms and head. As the dragons hatch, they will search among the candidates for their chosen lifemate and impress. The decisions of the search committee will be revealed at this time and any PC candidate who impresses will receive a message from their new dragon. Once a pair has impressed, they will be led off the sands by a member of the weyrlingmaster teams.
