Weyrlinghood at Ista Weyr

Welcome to Ista Weyr's weyrling program! This website is here to serve as a home base for all the OOC information you will need through the course of your weyrlinghood as well as offer overviews and 'classroom lessons' full of great IC information you can use as RP fodder. This weyrling program will last for about 12 RL weeks, or about 9 months IC time. It's a time of many changes and adjustments for the Weyr's newest dragonriders. In a fairly short time, the weyrlings must learn to manage a telepathic bond with another sentient being, adapt to their new societal role with all the changes in status and expectations that it brings, and absorb the basics of their new profession. Thus, the training regimen is a very demanding one: it sucks up nearly all of the new weyrling's time, energy, and emotion for the better part of a turn and a half.

OOCly, of course, the goal of weyrlinghood is to develop our characters and have fun while providing you with the tools and background you need to play your rider and dragon. We have made every effort to organize a complex portrait of weyrling training, as realistic and consistent as possible. If there is anything about the rules, the requirements, or the training that you don't understand, please feel free to ask questions. If you have any problems, are uncomfortable, or just aren't having fun, please talk to us. We are always available via page and +mail.

Our weyrling team - Weyrlingmaster P'draig and assistants, T'mic and Javeri - will be out and about to RP with you on a regular basis. Scheduled RP sessions will be offered each week - and while these sessions may not resemble the typical 'classes' of traditional weyrlinghood, they'll offer you opportunities to RP the ongoing development and challenges your characters (human and dragon both) may meet as they progress!

Please make note that at Ista, we run Weyrlinghood a bit differently than you might be used to at other Weyrs (or other games), so please do check out the pages for each month.
