Weyrlinghood: Month 9-12

Senior Weyrlinghood - August 13 - September 29

Congratulations! This month, you'll be graduating to senior weyrling. You have the skills and now you just have to hone them before you can join the wings. As such, the next few months will be your preparation and the weyrlings will fly together as any other wing does. You'll be a full rider now for all appearances; the only difference is that instead of reporting to one of the fighting wings, you'll continue flying in the weyrling wing, a wing now geared toward the practice of all the finer points of your training, advanced formations, going between at a moment's notice, dealing with high winds, continued rope drills.

As the months progress, you'll also have the opportunity to fly resupply during the rope drills of other wings, and, even better, sometimes dropping the rope. You'll have your first opportunities to fly in a flight with a few other wings, or find you have a guest wingleader for the day, to help you get a sense of how different leaders organize their wings and to help those leaders get a better feel for the new riders who will soon be joining them.

As the weyrling wing improves and a full turn of training comes to a close, the Weyr's wingleaders will have their assignments and begin tapping the weyrlings, at which point they will report to their new wing and weyrlinghood will officially be a thing of the past.

WLM/AWLM

The WLM team aren't so much weyrlingmasters any more as they are wingleaders. They'll be running the drills, overseeing sweeps and generally keeping tabs on their weyrlings-turned-wingriders to make sure that they're continuing to improve and getting ready to be tapped by the fighting wings. It's common for both the Weyrleader and his wingleaders of the Weyr to watch drills or talk to the WLM team about who is showing promise and who might fit best in which wing. After all, the WLMs know these riders better than anyone else.

Rules

All rules are lifted - weyrlings are on their own cognizance not to do anything colossally stupid. IC consequences should be expected for IC actions.
